Information Section: New Applicable Products Developed by AILab

On 6th December 2011, the Vietnam National University at HoChiMinh city (VNU-HCM) will organize an Information Section to introduce some applicable products that recently developed by researchers from  the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, (AILab), University of Science.

The products include a speech-based search on iPhone, namely, iSago and VIS::DIR (Viet vIoce System)

With iSago version 1.0 installed on your iPhone, you would be able to ask for a location of a restaurant in HoChiMinh city by saying keywords like "I want to eat Pizza in District 1" or "I want to find coffee-shops near Phu My Hung" etc.  iSago could also works in offline mode by providing a text-based interface, incase that your iPhone can not access to the Internet. It is also important to notice that iSago is free to all iPhone-users.

VIS:DIR is the first Vietnamese Interactive Voice Response system. It is an integration of Speech Technologies and Asterick Open Source Software. The current system allows callers to speak the name of a department in an University and be automatically transferred to the requested party—without the hassle of searching for phone numbers or waiting to speak to an operator.
